Summer is HERE....finally!!!

So it's here! The time of year teachers dream of from the first day of school........summer! Yes we do LOVE your children and do our very best to educate them every day of the school year, but the summer is soooo much more than just "days off". In a way I look at summer as society's way of paying us back for all of the OVERTIME worked during a school year. You know what I'm talking about...the 12-13 hour school days, nights and weekends of planning and grading, the conferences (especially the ones scheduled past 6:00 pm that don't even show or call to cancel), and this is just highlighting the obvious. Not to mention the mental rejuvination that takes place which is crucial to our overall health and well being, as well as yours! Haha!

What better way to celebrate the beginning of summer than with some beach inspired cake pops. These were fun and tasty with a pineapple twist! These were actually for an engagment party that was "beach" themed so they fit perfectly. The flip-flops are made from fondant and the "sand" is vanilla wafers. The shells you see on the stand are also edible and made from chocolate.

So have lots of fun for whatever summer is for you!! :)

Love #3: SUMMER.....and all of its fun and sweet blessings!!

Weddings!

I love them! Actually it's not the sitting through the "I Do's" that I love the most really. It's the flowers, the table runners, the timing of the music, the cake design, the hairstyles, the one "wow" detail that leaves people talking. Yes the nuptials are beautiful and holy but the planning and hand constructed details are my fav!

My fabulous mother has began a wedding/event planning service with a close friend. I love our "how's the planning going?" conversations. I look forward to them about as much as the post-wedding discussions where we carefully anaylze every aspect of someone's wedding! I know that sounds critical but it is all said in love...love for planning weddings LOL! As a team, they really do AMAZING things! While sitting at a wedding just last night I started thinking about their talents. This put me in an excellent frame of mind for creating these wedding cake pops! This was so fun!! :)
Love #2:  Planning, making "to-do" lists (even if it doesn't ever get accomplished), and watching great events/parties come together. I love the stress of it all!!!

First Post!

Hello world!
I am so excited to finally begin a blog where I am able to share my creativity and let the loves in my life shine! These "loves" will appear in no particular order.  :)

Love #1: a piping hot cup of coffee on a beautiful evening, with something sweet...preferably a cake pop!

Check back often for, what I hope will be, great inspiration and deliciousness. :)
